

The nominations period has now closed. These are the rules that applied to this year's nominations period.

The EIU Business Professor of the Year Award is open to any professor/lecturer currently teaching on any business course (Undergraduate, Masters or MBA) at a higher education institution anywhere in the world.

Professors that belong to any institution represented in the judging panel are not eligible for nomination. Similarly, professors from the event supporter Hult International Business School are also not eligible for nomination.

Nominations can be made by current students or anyone considered alumni on a higher education business course anywhere in the world.

Entries via third parties and automated nominations and votes are not permitted.

Nominations must be made via businessprofessoraward.com using the online nomination system. Nominations will not be accepted by any other means.

Only nominations that are duly received by us before the closing date will be eligible for the competition. We cannot accept responsibility for nominations that are lost, delayed or damaged. Proof of sending a nomination is not proof that it has been received.

Nominations not submitted in accordance with terms and all other rules and directions, or nominations that are incomplete or illegible (at our sole discretion) will not be included.

When nominating, students/alumni must supply all mandatory information about the professor, including the name of the institution where they were taught by the professor and the dates that they were taught by them.

You must ensure that all photographs, text, videos and other materials you submit for the campaign were created by you, and you can confirm that you have the right to submit them. If you fail to comply, The EIU reserves the right to disqualify your entry, as well as hold you responsible for any losses we may suffer.

Students/alumni are limited to one nomination each.

All nominations must be verified via the confirmation email. Once verified, the nomination will stand and no further nominations can be made from that email address.

Only genuine email addresses may be used to submit nominations. Any nominations made with unverified email addresses will not be counted.

Nominations are free of charge.

When nominations are submitted, the EIU assumes that permission from the nominated professor has been secured by the nominating student/alumnus. Should any dispute arise, the EIU holds no responsibility for this.

Upon making a nomination, students/alumni must ensure that all information submitted is accurate. The EIU accepts no responsibility for any incorrectly submitted information.

The EIU reserves the right to remove a nomination if they have reason to believe that the nomination is not genuine.

By submitting a nomination, the student/alumnus confirms that they have read and agreed with the competition rules and understand that these now apply.

Nominations may be withdrawn with the permission of the nominated Professor up until 5.00 pm GMT on Friday October 19th 2012 upon written request to the organisers.

In creating both the long list and the shortlist, the Judges' decisions are final and no correspondence will be entered into regarding this matter.

The winner will be announced Thursday March 14th 2013 during the live Teach-off. Full registration details will be announced soon and you can pre-register here.

Nominated professors must be available to attend the Teach-off in London on Thursday March 14th 2013. Travel and accommodation arrangements and costs will be organised and covered by the event organisers for the professors only.

Students/alumni are limited to one vote each. Votes are registered to email addresses. Once an email address has been used, no further votes can be used against it.
